About Agent Risk Review
Agent Risk Review was founded in 2019 by Renata Holloway, a former carrier underwriting manager who spent fifteen years reviewing agency submissions and watching otherwise qualified agents lose appointments because they could not produce organized, credible documentation of their own compliance history. She saw the same gap over and over: experienced agents with clean records and solid books, unable to tell their own story in a format that carriers trusted. She started Agent Risk Review to close that gap.
The company opened with a single service and two reviewers working out of a leased office in Columbus, Ohio. Within the first year, word spread through a regional independent agent association and the caseload tripled. By 2021, Agent Risk Review had added ongoing monitoring subscriptions and built a small team of reviewers with backgrounds in state insurance regulation, carrier underwriting, and agency management. The team remained deliberately small, prioritizing depth of expertise over volume.
Today Agent Risk Review serves independent agents, brokers, and multi-location agencies across more than thirty states. The company remains privately held and has never taken outside investment, which means every service decision is made with clients in mind rather than growth targets. The founding belief has not changed: agents who do the work right deserve a credible, independent way to prove it.
What we value
- Independence above all: our evaluations are never influenced by carriers, MGAs, or any party with a financial interest in the outcome
- Specificity over generality: every report we produce reflects the actual situation of the actual agency, not a template with names swapped in
- Plain language: our findings are written so that agents, carriers, and regulators can all understand them without a legal dictionary
- Respect for the profession: we believe insurance agents provide essential value and deserve tools that reflect that seriousness
- Responsiveness: we answer questions from clients directly, not through a ticketing system staffed by people who have never read a carrier agreement
